The result of low confidence is inaction. Women who struggle with confidence initiate salary negotiations four times less often than men and ask for 20% less than men. They compare themselves to others, which keeps them from progressing, making decisions, and feeling good enough. They speak less when outnumbered, worry about their decisions and feel more sensitive to feedback at work. Sometimes it seems easier to lay low than to lead.

And then maybe you don't need to be ambivalent about leading anymore.
